Storytime Channel

At our afterschool program, Project Rise, you can hear shouts of “lights, camera, action,” all over our classrooms! This semester, our afterschool students have been hard at work bringing books they’ve been reading in class to life. From creating and then acting out their scripts to crafting dioramas and mock social media posts, our afterschool students are engaged in hands-on learning experiences that help them sharpen their collaboration and communication skills. 

Through Project-Based Learning, Project Rise students can apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to solve real-life problems and create creative projects like scripts, podcasts, and skits. Project Rise provides engaging, intensive, educational, artistic, and social-emotional development activities to over 150 kids in our community. Our curriculum is focused on everything from literacy and STEM to arts and culture, gardening, nutrition, and physical education.
