Shoestring Spotlight – Lakesha Partee

April’s Shoestring Spotlight features Lakesha Partee! Lakesha is our Project Rise Coordinator and has been with Operation Shoestring for over ten years. When we asked Lakesha about her favorite part of her work, she said the following:

“Well, what’s most rewarding to me about this work is that I grew up in the same neighborhood as the children I work with. I went to school with some of their parents. It’s just being able to give back. It’s the reason why I take things so seriously when it comes to afterschool. Just coming from this neighborhood, I understand the dynamics of it. There’s so much potential here. I want to be able to foster that. “
