Shoestring Spotlight – Georgia
It’s time for Shoestring Spotlight! We checked with Georgia (and her mom, Sharonda) about how this afterschool year has been going for both of them. Sharonda had this to say about her and Georgia’s experiences with Project Rise.
Shoestring parent Sharonda says that our afterschool and summer program Project Rise has been “great” for her family. “My daughter and I love it,” she explained. “It really helps because I don’t have to worry about someone looking after her while I’m at work. It just really helps that I know she’s in a safe place.” Sharonda says that her seven-year-old daughter Georgia “just loves everything about” our program and that Georgia always asks if she can stay longer. Georgia also tells her mom regularly that her afterschool teachers are “really nice to her” and that she loves doing special projects with our volunteers. Sharonda and Georgia are both eagerly looking forward to our summer camp this year, and we look forward to it too!
