Katie Browning, Operation Shoestring’s board president, said the following of this programmatic year:

“2026 is shaping up to be a great year at Operation Shoestring already. The team has been working hard on programming and planning; all aimed at furthering our commitment to nurture not only our OS children but the entire family.  

We will continue to implement the goals and priorities of our strategic plan with an emphasis on evaluating the efficiency and success of our programs which will continue to help us strengthen and better design our curricula.

So far this year, we have seen an increase in students attending our after-school programs and with that, a rise in reading proficiency scores! We hope to see this trend continue as we prepare for our Spring Break camp and Summer Camps.

It is an honor to serve with such a committed group of individuals who are united in such an impactful mission. From our amazing staff to our dedicated Board of Directors, I can feel the momentum and excitement around our work.
