Meet Our New Programs Director, Pam Franklin
Pam Franklin is a native Mississippian, having lived and worked in Madison, Hinds and Rankin counties. A graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Pam headed to Louisiana to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Math and Economics.
Following graduation, she worked as a commercial lender with First Commerce Corporation in New Orleans. While there, Pam had the opportunity to volunteer with Junior Achievement teaching basic economic and business principles to middle school students. This experience ultimately led to a career change to education.
Pam moved to Massachusetts and earned her master’s degree in teaching mathematics (M.A.T.) from Boston University and later earned her education specialist’s degree (Ed.S.) in administration and supervision from Union University in Tennessee. She has enjoyed a fulfilling career in education in Tennessee, Louisiana and Mississippi for nearly 30 years. Pam has taught math at all levels, been a trainer of teachers, and worked as an independent math consultant to schools and districts across the state of Mississippi. She has served as an Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent locally in Jackson Public Schools. She has a strong passion for working with children and ensuring robust and meaningful teaching and learning experiences for them.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, tackling DIY projects at home, playing catch with her fur baby Rev (the most loyal dog ever!), and volunteering as a member of the Junior League of Jackson.
