Operation Shoestring selected for the ACLS Graduate Internships on the Spiritual Infrastructure of the Future Program
Operation Shoestring is pleased to announce our participation as a host institution for the ACLS Graduate Internships on the Spiritual Infrastructure of the Future Program, supported by the Templeton Religion Trust. In 2026, the program will place current PhD students studying religion in ten organizations working in communities across the country, where fellows can contribute to their critical work and explore potential future careers. Host organizations benefit from fellows’ scholarly perspectives and broad sets of skills and capacities, including strong writing, project management, cultural competencies, research, and problem-solving skills. Fellows will gain practical experience in how their research skills can be applied outside of academia, engage with the work of host organizations and the communities they serve, and build on that experience with cohort-based professional development support. The application deadline is January 14, 2026 at 9:00 PM EST. For more information, please visit this website and direct any questions to ACLS at spiritualinfrastructure@acls.org.
