Now Hiring: Afterschool Teachers

Operation Shoestring is excited to resume our afterschool program, and we need YOU to help staff it! We are seeking year round part time teachers and teachers assistants to staff our afterschool and summer programs! Afterschool takes place Monday to Friday during the academic year from 1pm to 5:30pm. Summer programming consists of a six week program that takes place during the weekday. 

 An educational license is not required, but prior counselor, education, or childcare experience is highly preferred. We are seeking staff that have a diverse set of skills, and a love of children. This position entails working with students aged K-5, and encompasses academic aid and a variety of enrichments. Flexibility is one of the most important traits an applicant can have since you will need to modify and differentiate your lessons to accommodate a variety of ability levels, ages, and types of students. Prior classroom or camp session management experience is also crucial. In particular, we are hoping to hire staff with experience in one or more of the following fields: gardening, cooking, physical education, therapeutic skills, STEM experience, art, reading instruction and math instruction. 

This afterschool program will begin in August, and run until May of 2022. It follows the school calendar, and is compensated at $15 dollars an hour. Please send a resume, a cover letter, and two references to lpartee@operationshoestring.org.
