This Year’s Spring Break Camp

At Operation Shoestring, last year the week of spring break is usually filled with a bustle of activity and laughter as children spend their days with us learning and growing in a safe and caring environment. But this year, spring break looks a lot different. There is a bustle of activity in the building–the clamor and clanging of construction.

As many of you know, we’re in the process of renovating our building to create an inspirational space for the children and families we serve. Although we miss the smiling faces of children and families we saw last year during spring break, we‘re using this time to evaluate and plan for all of the new programs and offerings that will take place in the new facility. We’re excited about our growth and the opportunity this growth will give us to make a deeper and more significant impact for the children and families of Central Jackson.

However, growth takes serious investments of time and resources. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the investments of time and donations from our volunteers and donors. Thank you to each of you who’ve trusted us with your resources.

We remain committed to providing high-quality learning experiences that support academic development and the socio-emotional well-being of children. And, we know you share that commitment, which is why we’re inviting you to support our programs, particularly our summer camp program that will start in a few short months.

Children need safe places to be creative and learn more about their communities. In the next few weeks, we’ll share more information about our summer program, including ways you can offer your support. Your generous gifts ensure our community can all rise together.
